Monroe Has Season End in 15-0 Loss

The Monroe High baseball team’s season ended Thursday with a 15-0 loss to Banning in a City Section 4-A Division quarterfinal at Banning.
The 16th-seeded Vikings (13-15) surrendered 11 hits to the ninth-seeded Pilots, managed only two themselves and trailed 5-0 after an inning.
Monroe starter Ryan Ennis (4-2) allowed four hits and six runs--all earned--in 1 1/3 innings. He struck out two, walked four and hit a batter.
Joe Nocera and Adam Kaplan had singles for the Vikings, who didn’t advance a runner past second base.
