Low-Flush Toilets Offered to Public
AADAP, a nonprofit drug abuse and prevention program, in cooperation with the Metropolitan Water District and the Los Angeles Department of Water and Power, is sponsoring a free ultra-low-flush toilet exchange program.
Homeowners and renters (with the landlord’s OK) can exchange 3- to 5-gallon toilets for water-efficient 1.6-gallon ultra-low-flush toilets. The swap can result in a savings of about 15,000 gallons of water a year per toilet, or an annual savings of $30 to $50 per toilet.
This program is open to DWP water customers in houses, apartments, condos and mobile homes. Businesses are not eligible.
