Memorial Day Parades, Festivals

Memorial Day will be marked by parades in Canoga Park and Topanga Canyon.

The ninth annual Canoga Park Memorial Day Parade will begin at 11 a.m. on Sherman Way and Owensmouth Avenue. A Western Days Fair will also be a part of the celebration from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. at Vanowen Street and Jordan Avenue. Information: (818) 884-4222.

In addition, the Madrid Theatre Performing Arts Festival will be held after the parade.

The festival, which will feature food and live music, will run from 12:30 to 6 p.m. on Sherman Way between Owensmouth and Remmet avenues. For more information, call (213) 485-0709.

In Topanga Canyon, the community’s often irreverent Memorial Day parade will step off at 10 a.m. at the corner of Old Topanga Canyon Road and Topanga Canyon Boulevard.
