Nadadores’ Sorgi Leads the Way at Diving Meet

MISSION VIEJO — Erica Sorgi continued her dominance Sunday as the Capistrano Valley High freshman won the women’s open three-meter and the girls’ 14-15 one-meter diving competition at the Mission Viejo Nadadores Memorial Day diving meet.
Sorgi, representing the Nadadores, won the three-meter competition with a score of 442.25. She then won the one-meter competition with 445.90, which was more than 100 points ahead of runner-up Kali Ducas. Sorgi won the one-meter women’s open and the girls’ 14-15 platform on Saturday.
In the men’s competition, Abel Sanchez, who dives for the L’Equipe Irvine Divers, won the men’s open one-meter event with 246.65 points.
