Baseball Team to Host South County Cities
- Share via
The Mission Viejo Vigilantes minor league baseball team is offering $3 tickets to residents of various South County cities for its City Nights promotion. The usual price is $5.
“We want the residents of neighboring cities to know that this is their team and not just Mission Viejo’s,” Patrick Elster, president of the ball club, said. “Some didn’t even know they had a team here.”
At each game, the mayor of the city being honored will throw out the first pitch, and children will be escorted onto the field for autographs. North, central and some south cities have been honored in previous games.
Start times are 7:05 p.m., except on Aug. 31, when it is 5:05 p.m. Residents are eligible for the cheap seats on the night their city is being honored.
The schedule is:
* Today vs. Reno Chukars. Laguna Niguel Night.
* Wednesday vs. Reno Chukars. Laguna Beach Night.
* Friday vs. Bend Bandits. Laguna Hills Night.
* Aug. 18 vs. Chico Heat. San Juan Capistrano Night.
* Aug. 19 vs. Chico Heat. Irvine Night.
* Aug. 31 vs. Sonoma County Crushers. Mission Viejo Night.
The team plays at Saddleback College, 28000 Marguerite Parkway in Mission Viejo.
