Spotlight: BankAmerica Establishes a Banking Unit in Poland

BankAmerica Corp. will establish a corporate banking unit in Poland as it expands into the emerging markets of Eastern Europe. The unit will offer cash management, investment banking and corporate finance services as part of the San Francisco-based bank’s efforts to promote venture capital activity in the region. The action followed a bank review of its overseas operations, which resulted in a shift of focus to the East from the West. A Russia unit is also planned.
