FULLERTON — Jill Matyuch, who played basketball and softball at Cal State Fullerton, has been hired as a Titan assistant women’s basketball coach.
She is the second full-time assistant to join Coach Denise Curry’s staff. Tamlyn Tills, who was a member of former coach Deborah Ayres’ staff, was retained by Curry.
Matyuch was the Titans’ Big West Scholar-Athlete award winner in 1989 and 1990. She ranks 10th on the school’s all-time women’s basketball scoring list with 1,097 points.
Matyuch coached basketball and softball at Covina Charter Oaks High since 1993, and also was head basketball coach at Porterville College for two seasons. She is an assistant coach with the Carolina Diamonds of the Women’s Professional Fastpitch Softball League this summer.
