Dollas Is Ready to Return

Defenseman Bobby Dollas hasn’t played since suffering a slashed tendon in his left forearm during a 3-3 tie Oct. 28 against the Toronto Maple Leafs.
But it appears Dollas will play Tuesday when the Ducks return to Toronto to play the Maple Leafs. He was cleared to play in the Ducks’ 3-2 overtime loss Saturday to Calgary, but Coach Pierre Page scratched him.
“I wouldn’t say I’m nervous,” Dollas said. “It’s more like an ‘it’s-about-time’ feeling. I’m ready. I haven’t played in a month. The longest I’ve ever been out before this was a week last season with chicken pox.”

It must be the permafrost, eh?
Teemu Selanne said there’s no reason other than the superb ice conditions at the Edmonton Coliseum for his success against the Edmonton Oilers. A goal in Friday’s 3-1 victory over the Oilers was his 22nd in 26 games against Edmonton.
“Here is the best ice in the league,” Selanne said. “Every time I come here I think I have wheels nobody can stop. Look at the guys they had playing here [for the Oilers] in the 1980s. They couldn’t stop those guys [such as Wayne Gretzky, Jari Kurri and Mark Messier].”

Selanne’s two-goal game Saturday was his fourth this season. He also has two three-goal games. . . . The Ducks haven’t won at Toronto since a 1-0 victory Dec. 15, 1993, an eight-game winless streak.
