Antoski Likely Out for Season

Left wing Shawn Antoski, who suffered a fractured skull and underwent surgery after an auto accident Nov. 24, was released from a Santa Ana hospital Friday and has been resting comfortably at home.

He is expected to make a full recovery, but probably won’t play again this season, according to a team spokesman. Antoski scored one goal in nine games before the accident.

His cousin, who was driving at the time of the accident on the Costa Mesa Freeway, was arrested on suspicion of felony drunk driving.

Teemu Selanne has scored 23 of the Ducks’ 65 goals, a whopping 35.4%. But he also has assisted on eight others, meaning he has had a hand in 47.7% of the team’s scoring.

It turns out unsigned free agent Paul Kariya has been coaching Selanne from afar this season. But don’t think Kariya, who has watched several Duck games on TV, has offered many scoring tips.

“I bug him now and then, saying he should pass the puck more often,” Kariya said, laughing.
