2 Teens Hospitalized After Car Hits Pole

Two Simi Valley teenagers remained hospitalized Friday after their car slammed into a utility pole.
The driver, 16-year-old Dustin Fleming, was in serious condition at Simi Valley Hospital with cuts to his face and legs and a possible broken jaw. The passenger, 15-year-old Justin Yarnell, was in guarded condition at the hospital. Information on his injuries was unavailable.
The accident occurred as the two boys traveled along a bend of Royal Avenue near Olympic Street about 7 p.m. Thursday. Police said witnesses told them the car was traveling about 65 mph. It struck two utility poles, and traffic on the road was shut down for 90 minutes.
