Parents Bear the Blame in Cal’s Probation
- Share via
I agree with the NCAA action against Cal. However, what type of example is being set if the parents involved are barely mentioned? Their son was for sale allegedly without his knowledge. What type of parent would accept payments and then when the son was not performing as well as he could, blame the coach, transfer and then turn the coach in to the NCAA? If not illegal, it smells bad. What responsibility does the son have for his performance?
Is this what we want to teach our kids, be dishonest and never accept responsibility for your own performance?
