Arts Grants Given by Long Beach Fund

Thirty-one arts and community groups and two individual artists have received a total of $250,000 in 1997-98 arts grants from Long Beach’s city-funded Public Corp. for the Arts.
Grantees, all of which are based in Long Beach, include the Long Beach Symphony Orchestra ($87,000), Long Beach Opera ($30,000), Long Beach Museum of Art ($7,500), Homeland Neighborhood Cultural Center ($7,000) and South Coast Chorale ($4,500).
Additional grantees include Cambodian Art Preservation ($3,000), South Coast Dance Alliance ($2,500) and When Words Collide ($2,500). The individual artist grantees are painter Michiel Daniel ($3,500) and dancer Linda Sohl-Donnell ($3,500).
