Male Cadet Linked to Sex Incident Resigns

A male Citadel cadet has resigned from the military college after allegations he had a sexual encounter in the barracks with a freshman female cadet, the head of the school said in Charleston. Campus rumors about the incident, which allegedly happened sometime around Nov. 2, came to the attention of cadet officers last week, school President John Grinalds said. The male cadet, an upperclassman, chose to resign rather than respond in writing to a citation of conduct unbecoming a cadet, Grinalds said. Sexual activity on campus between cadets and fraternization are prohibited.
