Arroyo’s Late Goal Gives U.S. a Tie

Gavin Arroyo got a goal to tie the score with less than two minutes left as the U.S. national team and Australia tied, 7-7, in a water polo game Sunday at Corona del Mar High.

It was the only goal of the game for Arroyo, a Villa Park graduate.

Chris Humbert had four goals for the United States and teammates Brad Schumacher and Wolf Wigo each had a goal.

Schumacher scored with 2 minutes 19 seconds left in the game to cut Australia’s lead to 7-6. Arroyo scored with 1:45 left.
