Nearly three weeks after the city election, Larry Waldie on Monday was declared the winner of a seat on the City Council by a two-vote margin over Tom King.
City Clerk Beverly Sherwood announced Waldie’s victory after the county registrar-recorder staff accounted for all the ballots in the Nov. 4 race.
With two seats up for grabs, incumbent June Wentworth easily won reelection with 1,727 votes, while Waldie edged out King 1,271 votes to 1,269 votes. Henry Terrazas garnered 402 votes.
