New Club Library Is in Need of 700 Books

The new Ventura Boys & Girls Club is seeking books to line its shelves.
The recently completed club library at 1929 Johnson Drive has shelving for 2,600 books.
Ventura’s Marina Park Community held a benefit several months ago to generate money for new books and another benefit is planned Dec. 13.
Consultants from the Ventura County Library Services Agency and the Ventura Unified School District donated assistance to help select appropriate reading materials.
About 700 additional books are needed.
Donated books in very good condition that would be of interest to children ages 7 to 14 are requested. The club library is a cooperative effort by a variety of individual volunteers and businesses.
For more information, call the club’s program director, Ralph Velarde, at 641-5599, or volunteer Jim Woodard at 658-6697.
