Opium Den to Offer Thankful Night of Disco

All you stiffies out there (me included) will have the opportunity to loosen up in the near future, when Brent Bolthouse, proprietor of the late, long-running disco club Saturday Night Fever, brings a new disco night to his Opium Den club in Hollywood. The title and the night have changed, but the sentiment’s the same. Look for Thank God It’s Friday, a night of pure disco satisfaction, to launch as soon as Oct. 17, with deejays Sean Perry and B.J. (from O.C.’s Disco 2000). . . .
A new Op Den Wednesday night promo featuring ‘80s cover band Men Without Sex is attracting the likes of David Arquette (who performed there recently) and Shaquille O’Neal. . . . Hot tip for the weekend: A really popular band is playing Friday night at the Viper Room, and it’s going by the name the Everclears. A stray consonant is the only thing separating alternative music lovers from getting in that line.
