Powerwave Gets Orders

IRVINE — Powerwave Technologies Inc. received orders totaling $12.8 million to supply 50-watt multi-carrier radio frequency power amplifiers to LG Information & Communications Co. and Samsung Electronics Co. of South Korea.
Powerwave said it expects to begin shipping the amplifiers in October and complete shipping by the first quarter of 1998.
Powerwave Technologies supplies power amplifiers for use in wireless communications networks. The company had $60.3 million in sales in 1996.
