Liz Christensen, a freshman from Moorpark High, scored two goals to help the Cal Lutheran women’s soccer team defeat Hawaii Pacific, 4-0, in a nonconference match Friday at Cal Lutheran.
After Holly Roepke opened the scoring in the sixth minute, Christensen gave the Regals (7-2) a 2-0 lead in the 21st minute on an assist from Roepke. Christensen’s second goal came in the 39th minute after she took a crossing pass from Ashley Scott and converted for a 3-0 halftime lead.

Ventura 4, Cuesta 1--Krista Janik scored two goals for the Pirates (13-2-1, 4-0-1) in a Western State Conference match at Ventura.
Moorpark 4, Santa Monica 0--Brenda Escobar scored two of three second-half goals for the Raiders (6-4, 4-1), who recorded their fifth shutout of the season in a WSC match at Santa Monica.
Bakersfield 5, Oxnard 0--Katie Ny and Kristin Sustaraan scored for Bakersfield in a WSC match at Oxnard (0-9, 0-6).
WOMEN’S VOLLEYBALL
La Verne d. Cal Lutheran, 15-11, 15-4, 15-4--Lauren McCartin had nine kills but the Regals (1-5, 1-1) dropped a Southern California Intercollegiate Athletic Conference match at La Verne, ending a 26-match SCIAC winning streak.
MEN’S WATER POLO
Saddleback 8, Valley 7--Jason Payne scored three goals, including a two-pointer, but the Monarchs (12-5) fell in overtime in the second round of the Citrus tournament.
