Only Savanna’s 21-20 loss to Sonora in the second week of the season kept this from being a battle of unbeaten teams. But last week’s 15-14 victory over Buena Park was too close for comfort. The Rebels failed to score on a fourth down from their opponent’s one-yard line, saw Buena Park’s apparent 84-yard touchdown nullified by penalty, then had to stop a two-point conversion late in the game to preserve the victory. Look for Newport Harbor to pressure the Rebels on both sides of the ball. The Sailors have allowed only 19 points this season, while scoring an average of 32 points per game.
