Former Fire Chief Takes College Post

Richard Bridges, a former fire chief of several cities, has become Santa Ana College’s director of the fire technology department.
Bridges began his firefighting career in Indio 31 years ago. After serving a short stint as a firefighter, he became a captain for the Banning Fire Department and then Rialto’s assistant fire chief. He headed the Redondo Beach Fire Department from 1989 to 1993 and until recently, served as Santa Monica’s chief.
