City Gives $100,000 for After-School Programs

The Anaheim Prep Sports and Activities Foundation has received a $100,000 boost from the city to help fund after-school sports and activities for junior high and high school students.

The City Council this week agreed to contribute seed money--from budget reserves--to the foundation, whose goal is to raise $600,000.

The nonprofit foundation, a joint venture between the city and the Anaheim Union High School District, will raise money from private companies and individuals to pay for after-school programs within the district and across the city.
