Paraclete 56, Santa Paula 14--Dominic Washington rushed for 202 yards and three touchdowns in 17 carries for the Spirits (4-1) at Antelope Valley College.
Washington ran for scores of 83, 19 and 11 yards on three consecutive Paraclete possessions in the second quarter before sitting out most of the second half.
The Spirits, ranked third in the Southern Section Division XI, took a 56-0 lead when Joey Rispaud blocked a punt, and teammate Mike Perez returned it 32 yards for a touchdown late in the third quarter.
Paraclete forced eight punts and six fumbles, recovering four, and also had two interceptions. The Spirits converted five of the turnovers into touchdowns.
Paraclete quarterback Sean Fraser completed six of 10 for 125 yards and two touchdowns, including a 53-yard scoring toss to Tommy Breech in the first quarter. Fraser also scored on a one-yard run.
