Maranatha 27, Fillmore 8--The Flashes (1-4) didn’t get on the scoreboard until sophomore Ted Chewning’s two-yard touchdown run early in the fourth quarter at Fillmore. Chewning finished with 32 yards in 11 carries.
Fillmore quarterback Phillip Zavala completed seven of 14 passes for 65 yards. The Minutemen (3-2) limited Fillmore to 10 yards in the first half and 160 overall. The Flashes committed three turnovers, which led to 21 Maranatha points.
