ATLANTA’S DENNY NEAGLE (20-5, 2.93 ERA) vs.
FLORIDA’S AL LEITER (11-9, 4.40 ERA) 4:30 p.m. at Miami
* Update--Finally, Neagle will start in a postseason game. The standout left-hander led the league in victories, but Neagle didn’t pitch in Atlanta’s three-game sweep of Houston in the division series because he’s the Braves’ No. 4 starter. Neagle pitched three shutout innings in relief of starter Greg Maddux in Game 1 of the championship series Tuesday. “Thank God for those three innings,” Neagle said. “That definitely helped me get ready because it had been a while. I almost forgot my way to the mound at Turner Field.” Kevin Brown was expected to start in Game 4, but the Marlins announced that Brown is suffering from a viral infection.
