Dynacast Moves Into Bigger Factory

Cal State Fullerton economist Anil Puri told an audience of about 500 business and political leaders as he announced his annual forecast Tuesday morning that job statistics show manufacturing employment in Orange County is on the rise.
Here’s more proof:
Dynacast Inc., an international manufacturer of zinc, aluminum and magnesium die castings for the automotive, hardware and mechanical controls industries, has moved its Orange County operation into a new, 90,000-square-foot factory in Lake Forest.
The move from Tustin doubles the factory’s capacity and, if market conditions continue improving, will double employment to about 250 workers over the next five years, says financial officer Al Wong.
“It is why we moved,” Wong said. “We are going to increase our capacity because business is good.” The British company, with factories in dozens of countries, opened its first Orange County facility in Santa Ana in 1974 and moved to the Tustin location in 1984.
