Authorities Identify Body Found in Car

Using dental records, the Los Angeles County coroner’s office has identified the body found in a Mercedes last week off Mulholland Drive as that of a 33-year-old West Hollywood man, authorities said.
Daniel Klein was found Saturday in a 1983 Mercedes about 700 feet below Mulholland Drive just south of Summit Circle.
Due to the state of decomposition, it is not yet clear how Klein died, said coroner’s spokesman Scott Carrier. The coroner’s office is conducting toxicology tests on the body, which may provide the cause of death in about four to six weeks, Carrier said.
Sgt. Jacque Franco of the Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department missing persons bureau said Klein’s mother in Iowa filed a missing-person’s report on Oct. 13. He had been missing since Oct. 7.
