Permit Parking Plan for 2 Clogged Streets

Hoping to reduce congestion, the City Council voted unanimously to establish permit parking districts on Intrepid Lane and Remora Drive.
Residents have complained for years that those streets are clogged, a conclusion also reached by a city study showing insufficient parking in the area that also attracts beach-goers.
“I don’t feel Huntington Beach should solve the county’s parking problem,” said Sally Ludlow, a 24-year area resident, who spoke out at the council meeting.
Under the parking district, vehicles with permits can park from 6 p.m. to 6 a.m. weekdays and from 10 p.m. to 6 a.m. weekends.
