School Board to Narrow Bonita Village Options
- Share via
The board of the Newport-Mesa Unified School District could decide as early as tonight where it will assign students from Bonita Village.
Board members last week were given nine options for accommodating students from the Irvine Co. development being built south of the San Joaquin Hills tollway and east of MacArthur Boulevard.
There is some pressure on the board to make a quick decision, because Eastbluff Elementary School, currently leased to a private elementary school, may need to be reopened.
Officials of the private academy, Waldorf School, have asked the board to give them more than a year’s notice if they are losing their lease, which expires in June 1999.
The board meets tonight at 7 at Newport-Mesa District Education Center, 2985 Bear St., Costa Mesa.
