ANAHEIM — CKE Restaurants Inc. and GB Foods Corp. entered an agreement with a unit of Texaco Inc. to develop dual-brand restaurants over the next three years.
CKE, which operates the Carl’s Jr. chain, said Tuesday that it and Texaco Refining and Marketing Inc. will develop 50 Carl’s Jr./Texaco locations across the western United States. Fifteen of those 50 locations will include the brand of Green Burrito, a Mexican quick-service restaurant chain operated by GB Foods.
The locations will feature Texaco fueling stations and Star Mart convenience stores.
So far, Carl’s Jr. and Texaco have opened two dual-brand locations in Riverside and Wheat Ridge, Colo. They have plans to open 13 locations in those states over the next 12 months.
