Cyrk Buys Newport

COSTA MESA — Newport Connection, a privately held promotional products company, is being acquired by Cyrk Inc. of Gloucester, Mass. Terms weren’t disclosed.
Cyrk said Tuesday that Newport expects to record revenue of $3 million for this year.
Cyrk, which said the Newport purchase is part of its plan to increase its market share in Southern California, provides promotional goods and services. It recorded sales of $250.9 million for 1996.
