City Votes Against 3rd Golf Course at Park

City Council members voted Monday to oppose the addition of a third golf course in Mile Square Regional Park in Fountain Valley, saying they hope to maintain open space there.
In a move started by the Garden Grove City Council, members approved a resolution urging the County Board of Supervisors to reconsider the golf-course plan.
Orange County Harbors, Beaches and Parks has proposed adding a third golf course to Mile Square Park, a move opponents say is an effort to bring the county increased revenue through a variety of fees.
Council members said they objected to the plan because Mile Square Park is supported by taxpayers and should be accessible to the general population.
It is the closest regional park to Seal Beach.
