SANTA ANA — A flipped tractor-trailer spilled metal boxes and rods onto the Santa Ana Freeway on Tuesday afternoon, blocking five of the six southbound lanes for 1 1/2 hours, the California Highway Patrol reported.
At 3:15 p.m., the truck rolled over near the 1st Street exit and dumped its load, the CHP said. The carpool lane and four other lanes were blocked while workers cleared the mess, the CHP said.
The crash caused no major injuries, the CHP said. The freeway lanes were reopened about 4:45 p.m.
