Resident Joins Boards of Nonprofit Groups

A Valley Village resident and public relations executive was recently appointed to the boards of directors of two local nonprofit organizations.
Tom Tomlin, a longtime Valley resident, will serve on the boards of directors of the Los Angeles County Public Library Foundation and the Sherman Oaks Health System, operator of the Sherman Oaks Hospital and its Grossman Burn Center.
Officials said Tomlin, who has public relations clients in real estate, health care and professional services, has had a long association with the hospital as a consultant in an unofficial capacity.
But he has only recently become involved with the library foundation, which was established to acquire collections and conduct programs for the 3.2-million residents the library system serves.
