Conejo Valley Mavericks Win Arizona Tournament

The Conejo Valley Mavericks, a 16-and-under club team from Thousand Oaks, won the Arizona Baseball Academy Fall Invitational tournament last weekend at the Seattle Mariners’ spring complex in Peoria, Ariz., by defeating five opponents.
Maverick right-hander Chris Cordeiro defeated Utah Baseball Academy, 5-2, in the final and also won a quarterfinal against the Fresno Bruins. Other winning pitchers for the Mavericks were left-hander Tracy Goebel and right-handers Dylan Baum and Ryan Finlan.
Other Mavericks players included Josh Birenbaum, Kevin Diez, Ryan Donahue, Adam Leavitt, Billy Lockin, Evan Moderhak, Travis Rice and Brent Schilhab.
The Mavericks made no errors in the tournament.
