Help Sought in Replacing Stolen Band Instruments
- Share via
Parents and band volunteers are asking for help in replacing more than $8,500 worth of musical instruments and equipment stolen from Rancho Alamitos High School’s band room earlier this month.
Liz Dandrea, a parent band booster, said a burglary in the music room over the Oct. 4 weekend resulted in the loss of three violins, several flutes, two trumpets, an electric keyboard and other instruments and equipment.
Only a handful of the instruments were covered by insurance, Dandrea said.
The band boosters are asking that community members donate any old or unused instruments and equipment to the school’s band. Police Capt. Dave Abrecht said the burglary remains under investigation.
