LOOKING AHEAD / UPCOMING PREP EVENTS IN ORANGE COUNTY

Foothill, ranked second in the county, will join third-ranked Newport Harbor, El Dorado and El Toro on Friday and Saturday in Northern California for the California State Invitational. Other top schools participating in the tournament at Bellarmine include Division I leader Long Beach Wilson, North Hollywood Harvard-Westlake and San Diego Coronado.
Wednesday will feature two important league matchups. In the Century League, No. 8 Villa Park will host defending league champion Foothill. The outcome could come down to the two-meter men, Robby Arroyo (Foothill) and Kyle Baumgarner (Villa Park). In the Sea View League, Newport Harbor visits Corona del Mar. Although the Sailors should have the upper hand in this game, look for Coach John Vargas’ Sea Kings to be motivated by pride. Both games start at 3 p.m.
