Troy (0-0) vs. No. 10 Rancho Alamitos (0-0)
7 P.M. FRIDAY
BOLSA GRANDE HIGH
Running backs David Vickers and Alex Blanco provide Coach Doug Case with a potent one-two punch. Vickers, also a standout linebacker, saw limited action at tailback last year but averaged 10.46 yards per carry. This will be a coming out party, of sorts, for Blanco. He rushed for 200 yards and five touchdowns before tearing the anterior cruciate ligmant in his left knee in the third game of 1996. He’ll also start at defensive back. Troy returns 11 starters, including quarterback Steve Muther, who helped the Warriors share the 1996 Freeway League title with Sunny Hills.
