Silva, from Santa Ana High, had a season’s goal production in one game. He scored six times as Santa Ana beat Cuyamaca, 7-0. He scored in the first half in the sixth, seventh and 35th minute. He scored in the second half in the 53rd, 84th and 87th minute. Silva also scored a goal Sunday when Santa Ana beat Southwestern, 7-0. The Dons have outscored five opponents, 25-0.

Cross-Country

Cross-Country

Riel, from Mater Dei High, has elevated her expectations and had immediate results. She gained confidence by winning the 10,000-meter race in the Orange Empire Conference finals last spring and worked hard all summer. She finished second in the Fresno Invitational Saturday as the Pirates won the team title. Her time of 19 minutes 9 seconds was about two minutes faster than she ran on the same course in the state meet last season.
