Summer school attendance more than doubled at elementary schools in the Placentia-Yorba Linda Unified School District, with eight schools offering classes to students compared to four last year. More than 4,000 students of all grade levels were enrolled in summer school, due in part to the district’s early intervention policy, said Bert Raiche, director of adult education.
