A 22-year-old Anaheim man apparently drowned in his home pool Tuesday, according to authorities.
Emergency crews were called out at 5:18 p.m. to the 2900 block of Westhaven Court after getting reports of a drowning victim.
When they arrived, they discovered William C. Alvarez of Anaheim in cardiac arrest. They performed CPR on the victim, who was then transported to Western Anaheim Medical Center. He was pronounced dead at 6:08 p.m.
Several people were at the residence during the incident. Apparently, a roommate had made the emergency call, Anaheim police spokesman Sgt. Joe Vargas said.
“We don’t know the circumstances by which he was in the pool,” he said.
An autopsy will be performed today, according to the coroner’s office.
