The City Council, by a 3-2 vote on Tuesday, increased its monthly pay from $400 to $620. This is the first raise for the council since the city incorporated in 1989. The council also approved an additional $600 in optional health benefits and $275 car allowance for council members. The actual pay increase will not take effect until after the November 2000 election. The council also approved a monthly $50 car allowance, a salary of $125 and $200 in health benefits for Planning Commission members. Information: (949) 248-9890.
