Two men were arrested Thursday in connection with the July 25 death of a Huntington Beach man who was struck in the head by a bullet fired through his bedroom window.
James Morfin, 22, of Garden Grove and Manuel Amezola, 19, of Stanton were arrested by detectives about 4 p.m. without incident, Huntington Beach Police Lt. Ron Burgess said.
The victim, 23-year-old Alberto Mendez Olmedo, had been sitting on a bed in his apartment in the 17400 block of Dairyview Circle when he was struck and killed, authorities said. They would not elaborate on how the two suspects were linked to the case.
No other information was provided because of “the extremely sensitive nature of the investigation,” Burgess said.
Both men were taken to Huntington Beach City Jail, where bail was set at $250,000 each.
Arraignment is set for Monday.
