The City Council agreed to allow residents to park recreational vehicles in their driveways during the two weeks before and after the new year.
A resident had requested the parking law exemption because he was worried about how potential computer problems associated with the shift to 2000 could affect his home, and he wanted the option of staying in his recreational vehicle if problems should occur.
Some scientists have predicted widespread computer problems as a result of the year change.
