A Palmdale man died Thursday night after losing control of his pickup on Soledad Canyon Road, the California Highway Patrol said.
Delbert Thomas Gann, 61, was driving east when his Nissan pickup drifted to the right shoulder west of Bootlegger Canyon Road at about 7:20 p.m., said Scott Carrier, spokesman for the Los Angeles County coroner’s office.
Gann abruptly steered the truck back to the road but lost control, said CHP Officer Frank Sansone. The pickup careened over both lanes of the two-lane road and crashed down a dirt embankment, rolling over three times, Sansone said.
Gann, who was not wearing a seat belt, was ejected from the truck. He was pronounced dead at the scene.
