Matt McNally
Esperanza, Sophomore
Soccer
McNally scored two goals to help Esperanza (13-0-2) remain undefeated with a 4-3 overtime victory over South Torrance (12-1-2) in the championship game of the Marina tournament. McNally scored four goals in the tournament and leads his team in scoring (seven goals, four assists).

Eric Gordon
* Trabuco Hills, sophomore. His sudden-death goal upset No. 2 Saddleback, sending the Mustangs to the tournament title game.
Basketball
Jerett Skrifvars
* Brea Olinda, senior. Had 21 points and 12 rebounds to beat Downey Warren for Brea tournament title and earn co-MVP honors.

J.J. Sola
* Capistrano Valley, senior. Scored 28 points, sparked comeback and overtime victory as Cougars took third in the Nike Prep Classic.
Meghan O’Neill
Canyon, Senior
Basketball
O’Neill, a point guard, was named MVP of the Cavalier Classic. She scored 18 points and had 13 rebounds to lead Canyon to a 58-54 victory over Sonora in the championship game. Since losing its first three games, Canyon has won 12 in a row. “The kids rally around her,” Coach Nelson Herrera said.

* Capistrano Valley, junior. Scored game-winning goal to lead Cougars to their first Excalibur tournament championship.

Lindsay Greco
* Capistrano Valley, junior. Had five goals and four assists in Excalibur tournament, helping extend her team’s winning streak to eight.
Basketball
Cathy Joens
* Calvary Chapel, senior. Averaged 17.8 points and was named Lady Rebel Classic MVP as Calvary Chapel won championship.
