The City Council on Monday unanimously denied an application to establish a Ryder Truck Rental facility on Lincoln Avenue. Council members reasoned that the property, although located in a heavy commercial zone, must go along with plans to beautify Lincoln Avenue. Under the proposed downtown zoning in the Lincoln Avenue Specific Plan, truck and trailer sales, rental and service will no longer be allowed.
