Joens Leads Calvary Chapel to Victory

Cathy Joens made a 15-footer with 1.3 seconds remaining to give Calvary Chapel a 39-37 victory over Brethren Christian in an Olympic League girls’ basketball game Tuesday at Brethren Christian.
Joens scored 19 points for the Eagles (12-5, 3-0), ranked fifth in Division IV-A.
Liz Mack made six of six free throws in the final quarter and scored 10 points for Brethren Christian (11-8, 1-2).
