Consultants hired by the city to create a bid package for trash companies are asking the public for advice at a special meeting next week. Residents face the prospect of having new trash and recycling companies for the first time in more than 40 years after a prolonged embezzlement scandal led city officials to not renew Orange Disposal Services’ contract, which ends in December.
The consultants will hold a workshop to discuss what type of trash service residents want and to see how much interest there is in automated collections and green-waste recycling. The meeting begins at 7 p.m. Jan. 21 in council chambers, 300 E. Chapman Ave. Information: (714) 744-2205.
