Long Beach State 79, North Texas 72--The 49ers used a late 15-0 burst to come from behind, then held off the Golden Eagles by making seven of nine free throws in the final 90 seconds in a Big West Conference game at Denton, Texas.
Ramel Lloyd scored 32 points to lead the 49ers (7-8, 4-1). Joe Ervin scored 22 points for North Texas (1-13, 1-3).
Long Beach State trailed by 10 points in the first half and by 65-56 with seven minutes to play, but in the next four and a half minutes they went on the 15-0 run for a 69-65 lead.
The 49ers made three three-point baskets during the run, including two by Lloyd.
